Nokia has released another handset that competes against other low cost Android smartphones. The Nokia Asha 309 is a moderately priced handset that comes with a capacitive touch screen.
The Asha 309 has a body made of plastic and accompanies a glossy removable back cover. This is a small handset with rounded edges and is very comfortable to be carried around. The 3-inch capacitive LCD multi-touch display is responsive to touch inputs and makes it easier for the users to navigate the phone. The screen’s resolution is low and has a pixel density of 155ppi . Since the viewing angles are not wide enough, the colors tend to get washed out at extreme angles. But the display is bright and is readable outdoors in bright lit areas.
The Asha 309 comes with the revived and revised Series 40 operating system. The new version resembles the ‘Android-lite’ OS with new features and extra functionality being added to it. The menu is quite responsive and you will face no difficulty in scrolling through the applications. The 2-megapixel camera can be disappointing but its applications offer number of settings that can be useful while shooting images.
This handset offers 128MB of built in memory which can be expanded with a 2GB microSD card. Nokia also provided added advantage of expanding this further up to 32GB.
